Try to avoid this roundabout, no place to stop for cars.
However, I could have a ride to gent after 20min from a nice and crazy old guy... But I would try to hitch on another point later...

Once I wanted to go to Vorselaar for the 'Na fir bolg' festival. Two most friendly women took me along and dropped me at the festival. Lots of space to pull over here

There is a bus stop here where you can try to hitchhike to Antwerpen. You can find the bus stop in front of a store which is called 'Fun'.

Indeed a good place, even without sign.

depending on the time, you can usually get a ride within 15 minutes towards Leuven or Hasselt. Once dark, it's harder but not impossible.

I stood on the R11 first, and didn't get a ride for ±30 minutes. Then I moved to the ramp, where there is a lot of space for people to stop, and was picked up within 15 mins

Not a good spot to go to Antwerp. Caught a lift directly to Brussel in 20 minutes.

Was here on a Sunday. Maybe I was unlucky, or I looked too tired after 3 days of hitching, but it took 2 hours to get a lift. I used a sign for Brugge, then a sign for Gent, before just using my thumb.

April 2013: Asked the people at the gas station. All of them were pretty friendly though most of them were only heading into the city. Got a ride to Gent in about 1/2 hour.
