Nobody would talk to me at the pumps or exit.

Took some time to found someone going to Paris. Don't afraid to ask people on petrol station.

Good place for Charleroi, France.
Take the bus to \"Bollinckx\".

Hitch Hiking Spot at the red light under the bridge, right before the turning onto the motorway ramp in direction of Paris / Mons / Charleroi - Take tram 4 to Stalle terminus, then walk to Motorway. You can ask any car to take you to the next petrol station, which is 2km further south

Never tried yet, but could be an excellent place as a petral station (1.5 km from Stalle).

This spot can be excellent if the traffic is very slow (I tested in around 6.30pm) and you're heading south.
Got a lift to Charleroi airport area in five minutes.

Take the metro line #5 in direction Erasme/Erasmus and get off at the Ceria/Coovi stop.

HHiked from there to Lille. Had to wait about 20 minutes for a ride on a Thursday around noon. I got there by hhiking from the spot 2 kms north at the red light. a lot more cars pass by there, but the gas station is a lot nicer place than up there under the bridge;
by the way, the spot is correct, the site is no more under construction as in the satellite image ;)

I think it is a good spot. I was too lucky though to find out as I got picked up while walking there without even hitching.

Waiting on the up-ramp with a destination sign and "next gas station symbol" took us 5 minutes. (2 people).

I tried this spot at the red light, on the small pavement under the bridge several times. It is possible, after eye contact, to talk to a driver, and if they say they go your direction or agree putting you off at a next petrol station, my experience is that they wait even if the light goes green, and other cars can still bypass them.

bad spotbecause car don't have time to stop if they want to take you (red light time is too short) and not very confortable under the bridge (noises..).
But if you walk 15 meters away, at the entrance of the ring, it is a very good spot, cars can stop and see you in advance :)

Actually a lot of cars, but no place for them to stop, you can just enter the car when it's waiting at the red light. Next time i'll try the gas station in Stalle.

A decent spot. I found the red-light WAY too short for drivers to consider letting you in their car, so we walked to the ramp and had better luck with traffic coming from the west, as there is enough space for the to stop and still have cars go around. In about 10 minutes, got a ride all the way to Lille, Fr

a hard spot. It s easier from the next petrol station which is close just two km to walk to..

good spot, even if red light is not the best, but enough time for people to consider taking you

had to walk all the way to this station via the road by the highway, but you should go up to the gas station as you see it, because later on, there's a fence which continues for some time (there was a hole). went to Paris - got a ride to ~Lille in 15min

We were two girls waiting near the exit, didn't go to anyone. But within 15 min we got on a car heading for Amiens. It was a Sunday morning.

waited one hour a bit behind the petrol station with a sign saying "France". After warming up for 5 minutes in the station I was able to get somebody to take me up to Rouen! was great
