This road is good for hitchhiking (in both directions) but can be a bit dangerous, because cars go fast there. On my opinion, the best thing is to stand 100 m after traffic lights: cars can see you when they are waiting and are not going that fast yet.―Anonymous

Very good spot: The drivers can see you from far, lots of place to stop (even a truck stoped there for me once), several gas stations not far a way, although I also managed to get in Liège directly. Going north is also a very good spot.―Anonymous

Very good spot indeed. If it doesn't work, you could walk to the petrol station a bit south on the A2 and get there by small road at the backside.... but I don't think you'll need to. Got a direct ride to Liège from here.―Anonymous

From here 80% goes towards Heerlen/Kerkrade or further that way to Aachen, Koln. About 20% drives to Maastricht or further towards Liege, Luxembourg or France. Used this place about 15 times, never waited more than 30 minutes while asking around for Maastricht.―Fverhart

Het Anker is a good place, nice personel, from here you can take a ride to Heerlen-grens servicestation Tienbaan from where you get rides to deep in GermanyHere on Anker watch for German drivers who go to the first exit after the border passing Heerlen-grens Tienbaan, they can drop you on Heerlen-grens Tienbaan

You can get here also from a small road behind the petrol station. I have friends who got from here to Charleroi Airport. I had less luck when I tried to get to Liège from here.―Anonymous
