We were here on a Tuesday morning, and in half an hour two cars stopped. It's an expensive highway/city gas station without a shop. The second one took us to the roundabout in the west of the city, that was a way better spot for going to Belgium. There was also a lot of police around, and they told us we weren't allowed to be there. I don't think it's worth going out of your way to get here, but if you get dropped off here I guess you'll eventually find a ride.―Bigworldsmallsarah

Busy gas station with lots of cars going to the Netherlands. We stood at the exit, but asking would probably work really well as well. I tried to use the kids entrance at the gas station, but I learned that an alarm goes off when you do that. Just so you know haha.―Bigworldsmallsarah

I drove away from the Ikea and saw at the traffic lights a guy waiting to cross the road with a sign Hannover in his hands. I honked, pulled over and brought him close to Maastricht while I was on my way to Belgium.―Japie4

During summer holidays loads of families with full cars, lots of ppl going north. Best bet is not to ask at the more frequented lunchspot, but rather ask around the petrol station as theres much less falilies stopping there―Chrlion

Not a legal spot to hitchhike according to the traffic cop who picked me up after drivers apparently called the police on me. Drivers constantly beeping and yelling at me, one guy even through a beer can at me.Luckily the cop drove me to a nearby truck stop just to get me off the highway. I would try a different spot heading south next time
