A decent spot, there were no cars parked here, a good one if you don't want to walk that far. But I would say it's better to just aim for Brugge and get off at the gas station on the highway if going further.

It was evening already, but I found a ride to Oostende, I hitchhiked before the roundabout, where there are two road lanes.

There is a small truck stop and a gas station, but I would advise looking for something better. I was aiming for UK so that might have been also the cause that I didn't get a ride.

Just before the roundabout, there is a place where cars can easily stop. It took me just a few minutes, but I would advise for aiming to some better place pretty close.

A good, safe spot for Brugge or Ghent. Cars can see you clearly, and they can safely stop at the local bus stop. It is still kinda the city centre, so having a sign would be advised, but this road is still one of the main ways for cars to get out of the city; therefore, I think it is pretty good.

I got a ride directly to Oostende from here. There were a lot of cars here, and a guy took me almost immediately. This is a good spot if you need to change directions. I arrived late at night, slept in the truck cabin, and the next morning crossed a nearby bridge to the other side and headed toward Oostende.

I waited here for 2 hours trying to find a ride to the UK. There was very little traffic on a Monday night and I was just happy to accept a ride to Calais in the end, shortly before sunset. The driver drove me there out of pitty, I think.
But seriously, stick to the bigger service station in Jabbeke. There's not a ton of traffic either, but at least you spot a UK licence plate every now and then.

I waited here for 1 hour trying to find a ride to the UK. I eventually decided to take a ride one gas station further. A BIG MISTAKE!
Though there are not many cars going to UK here, at least there are some. At the next gas station there was one car in the first hour, that is it.
So, even if it seems bad, don't get tempted to go one gas station further. You'll regret it.

So-so-ish, there are traffic lights here which helps. It's probably the best place to get to Brugge and Gent (and further)

just outside the city center of veurne across the Q8 gasoline station, there's place to stop for cars, plenty of cars coming from the seaside (koksijde and De Panne) goin direction Brussels. not a good place if you wish to go direction france.

i´m not sure if it´s the exact position, but somewhere around here (but on the motorway)is the last service station on the motorway before france. many trucks heading to the uk via eurotunnel do their last stop here before entering the train. use a sign or ask drivers (truckers should be better, most cars are full), try to be early,it´s less traffic in the evening and it´s not nice to stand there when it´s dark. but when it´s not to late, you should manage it to get a quick ride to the uk, probaly through the tunnel. trucks don´t have to pay for a second driver, but be sure having your passport with you and don´t carry any illegal shit!

cars get on the highway here, so speed is fairly low. good place to go to Bruges or Ghent. On sunday evening guaranteed rides to Ghent.

Nice place with enough space to stop. Around 16.00 not much traffic...

This is a good petrol station heading to Dunkerque or Calais. Not exactly sure of the location either, as it's not on satellite.

Police came after 10 min and told us to go away..

Standing here is actually illegal, dangerous and due to the fact that traffic coming from the round-about enters the motorway on the left lane, your chances are probably less than at the spot just a hundred metres back...

Illegal indeed and I agree it's pretty dangerous
