Casually hitchhiking while waiting for the bus. Seconds before it arrives, somebody picked me up.―Anonymous

Found a car in the direction of Mons, France pretty fast by asking around. A lovely person too that gave me control of the aux.―Anonymous

May favourite starting spot to get out of the area to the Netherlands/Belgium/France. So far has worked out for me fairly quickly every single time. This review is super late, but I was there in May in the afternoon and found folks going my direction in half an hour by asking around. It only took half an hour because they wanted to finish their meal (which, totally fair.) I think the finding itself only took about 10 minutes.

Take bus 45 or another bus going to the university or walk to this spot. Do make a sign, because people can go quite a lot of different directions from this point. I got a ride to Maaseik in less then 1 minute!―Anonymous

This road is good for hitchhiking (in both directions) but can be a bit dangerous, because cars go fast there. On my opinion, the best thing is to stand 100 m after traffic lights: cars can see you when they are waiting and are not going that fast yet.―Anonymous

We found this an excellent spot to get to antwerp from maastricht. about a half hour journey by bus from maastricht train/bus station (you need to catch the belgian bus, De Lijn, from i think stand K,L or M stopping at Bilzen). Wait at the start of the N700 just after the round about. There is a big service lane where cars/trucks etc can stop. Took us longer to write a sign than to get picked up! Was able to be taken to a town where the bus to antwerp was 2 euro.―Anonymous

For Antwerp/Brussels accept any ride to Hasselt, all ramps in Hasselt or OK or better. Use sign Antwerp/Brussel.―Fverhart

You can get here by taking the free H1 bus (direction Spalbeek or Kermt), which has a stop at the train-station. Get out at the "Kuringen - Stevoortse Kiezel" stop and walk back 100m!―Anonymous

Hard shoulder is not very wide, careful when walking to this access lane, busy road. Great for Antwerp / Brussels.―Fverhart
