Not even 2 minutes and a truck driver picked me up. Brought me all the way to Turkey. Roads are shit and it takes forever.―Anonymous

I took the tram from the city centre and walked 100m to the roundabout. Enough space to stop and cars go slow. It took less than 5 minutes (with sign Ruse and Türkiye) to catch a ride. A very nice and old man took me to right to the border. He drove like crazy and did not want any money.―Anonymous

Despite it being dark and me standing with a sign I got picked up all the way to Sofia quickly. The lights are good enough for nighttime hitchhiking, otherwise there’s always the gas station.―Anonymous

Lots of space to pull over, definitely possible to get a ride directly to Bulgaria as many cars have Bulgarian plates. With my BG sign I got taken to Giurgiu, the driver offered to take me to the bridge toll booth but I got off at the Kaufland because I needed food instead.―Anonymous

No one wanted to give me a ride at the truck stop, so I got frustrated and was going to walk across the border to Romania. But as I was walking past a gas station, I saw a car and asked if he can take me across the border. It turned out that he was going to Bucharest.―Anonymous

Don't hh here, better enjoy the wonderful walk over the bridge and start after the roundabout in Ruse. Some say you can't walk over the bridge, but no one stopped me crossing it.―Anonymous

Go here and ask a truck driver to get you across. The Bulgarian customs officers won't let you cross the bridge on foot, even if, from the Romanian side people are crossing on foot of by bicycle.―Anonymous
