If traveling to Wolfville or further North, where the highways from Halifax and Dartmouth converge make a perfect place to stand. There is a very clearly marked sign just beyond which marks where pedestrians may not pass. So long as you are before this sign, you won't have a problem with police. I have never waited more than 10 minutes at this location during the day.―Anonymous

The friendly nature of Atlantic Canadians (as opposed to Western Canadians or Torontonians for example) is clear when you hitchhike in Nova Scotia. I have never waited more than 20 minutes for a drive, so long as you are on a common, well traveled route during the day.―Anonymous

Very easy spot to get hikes to the airport. There is a nice hard shoulder that you can stand on. Drivers waiting at traffic lights can spot you easily. Experienced waiting time ca. 15 min.―Anonymous

Hitching to the Eastern Shore. Take bus 61, 68 or 401 to get here, and get off the farthest you can on road 7. If you walk a bit next to the road you're sure to find a place where cars can stop easily.―Anonymous
