Hitchhiked by night, lots of traffic coming back from snow day in Whistler. Red light is long enough to go between cars with a sign. Once you got a ride, they can easily pull over if needed, after the traffic light.Gas station also available, didn't try tho.
Got a ride from Cedric, a French guy who travel a lot as well. Good convo as we were jammed in traffic.

When ever I'm going west from Keremeos, I usually post up across from the Canco. The last time I was there I didn't even make it out that far before someone stopped and picked me up. They gave me a ride all the way out to Tsawwassen.―Anonymous
