Toll gate - excellent spot for rides south towards Xian. It's a popular hitchhiking spot I guess, so staff and highway police are used to these strange foreigners on the highway ;-). To get here take the metro (Line 14) to Yuanboyuan station (Garden Expo Park - Exit C). From here it's around 1.5 kilometer walk to Dujiakan Roundabout and the ramp-on to the highway, where there are the toll gates. Alternatively take any bus which goes along Yuanbo Ave. toDujiakan Roundabout.

Decent spot for going in the south direction (inland towards Wuhan). Might look like there's not much space, but Chinese drivers will usually pull over regardless. They will have to slow down for the toll booth anyway.―Anonymous
