North. You can ask at the gas station or stand at the exit. Lots of international family cars during the summer, but they seemed mostly full and not willing to give a ride (july 2013). Walkable from nearby railway station "Sveti Križ Začretje".―Anonymous

North / South. Quiet toll station. Use sign as cars go to two different directions from here. Probably good place to catch a ride to Zagreb.―Anonymous

To Zagreb. I was there around 5:30 in the evening on a Monday. There were almost no cars and only a couple of trucks (who were going to Zagreb the next morning). I was there for 30 mins and only saw a few full cars come into the station. I ended up just walking to Sveti Kriz Zacretje and taking the train (was 33.60 kn).If you were here during a more prime time (summer, earlier in the day) I think it'd be pretty easy to get a ride to Zagreb. It's only 46 km or so.

Cara on the road, are going really fast, poor visibility, and a bit dangerous. But there are some cars once in a while from an industrial area, and I caught a ride with a guy towards Slovenia. I got pretty lucky though. Good luck hitchhiking friends!―Gaialove

I waited 3 hours (mid October) and nobody took me. Even if I asked people (just to go to Zabok), they all said no. So I had to across the highway and finish by walking. (Solo woman travellerl―Namaya

There is a lot of traffic coming through, and a lot of cars from Germany. Great opportunity to catch a long ride. I had one of my best hitchhiking experiences from here, with someone travelling to Netherlands. The border guards also don't seem to care. With patience you will get a ride. There are also toilets. Peace and love enjoy the ride!―Gaialove
