Waited on the little strip between the main road and the cafe parking with a sign for Dubrovnik. Plenty of space in the lane merging from the cafe and I got a ride with a local war veteran iin 5 minutes who told cool stories even though he didn't speak English and he was super engaging and even brought me all the way to the Dubrovnik old town!―Arcturus

Good space with lots of space to pull over; only difficult because of the border crossing. I got picked up eventually by 2 Serbian guys heading to Orebic to escape the politics in Serbia who were super chill and friendly and willing to take me across the border. Probably better to stand in front of the sign because the people who picked me up originally thought I was police haha. There was also a massive 50 car convoy beeping and shouting and playing loud music waving some flags (including Croatian flag). I think it was a wedding convoy.―Arcturus

Decent spot with decent traffic. Lots of soace to pull over to the bus stop but sometimes people also use that as a turning lane in the opposite direction for some reason. I got jumpscared the first time it happened. With a sign HR I got an offer to Split in 30 mins and then one to near the Croatia border near Metkovic after 80 minutes. He was a bit horny though (even though I'm male).―Arcturus

Little traffic and litteraly nobody wanted to stop. Also space for stopping is quite big but it can get occupied by tourist busses and random cars which makes it harder to hitchhike. After this long waiting I decided to just walk to the border―Autostopeks

last sidewalk before intersection to highway. straight road, cars go slow after supermarket. road towards mostar so lot of cars go that way! got very lucky and got ride straight to sarajevo. even stopped for coffee on the way. one thing to note - the road is quite steep from neum, in the heat it was awful to walk up. maybe try your luck closer to centre if you dont want to sweat.―Anonymous

quite calm. good visibility and cars drive slow after intersection. waited 2hrs, maybe people are afraid to take hitchhikers across the border. no shade. but there was gas station and i had a coffee while waiting, beautiful view. best place before the border i would say, hard to walk any closer.―Anonymous

Got a ride in 10min to Mostar after signing and asking around. One guy driving to Sarajevo took me. Im one femaleThere is a huge parking area for the restaurants and you can ask around, though people might be going in either direction. Cars driving past will be slow if there's traffic
I actually wanted to go to Medugorje, but for some reason couldn't get a ride back to Čapljina from here. People didn't seem to want to take hitchhikers. Plus it's tricky to get to Medugorje from Čaplinja. So I decided to hitch back to Mostar first and take Bus 48 from there
