As other user said, don't ask ppl around McDonald's (they all go to Austria). Go all the way to the end where is the exit to highway and stand with sign. Got a ride to Zagreb quite quick.―viki99

We used a Darubar and Pakrac sign and stood behind the zebra crossing. Mostly local traffic and not lots of it but cars are going slow, can see you clearly and there is place for them to pull over.―simsvob

Minimal traffic on early tuesday afternoon. First we used sign Bosnia then switched to Okučani. We at least found same shade, but shit spot otherwise. Eventually we got lucky and a kind driver took us to the toll station next to Novi Varos close to the border. We were a couple.―simsvob

Good spot, it's popular station on highway. I got ride directly to Belgrade in few minutes. If the driver asks you to came across the border by foot it is ok. The customs service are used to hitchhikers and crossing the border by foot.―mandat

Worth to go there. I was going to exit ramp with sign Zagreb and rider approached me before I started to hike.You can get there from Cesta Dveh Cesarjev, then go down to the bushes between golf field and highway. There is a small path. Go with the highway fence to the metal gate. Gate is closed but just next to it there is a hole in the fence.

We were trying different strategies (me and gf), what worked in the end was sitting right at the exit of gas station before the parking.Most of traffic for holidays, full cars - we were saved by a guy going to Belgrade and got to the last rest stop before turn to Bosnia :)

Waited less than an hour hitchhiking with a sign to Slavosnky Brod.You can access the Service Station from Novska, there's a road with a bridge that passes over the highway that goes to a nature reserve which can be entered through an openable gate. Once you're there go left through a dirt road, there's many huge wild pigs so be careful not to startle them, go straight and there's another opened gate to the station.
