Lots of cars coming through, all exiting through one lane, thumbing near the exit got me a few drivers asking where i was going, and i got a direct ride to Ostrava in 20 mins.

arrived here at 5PM, waited until 9PM, slept in a tent behind the gas station. Some guy agreed to take us to Brno the next day. A lot of truck trafić, which we couldn't capitalize on since we're travelling as 2. A lot of locals in this gas station.

Low traffic in the evening and a drunk man, that lives nearby the gas station was talking to us and was pretty anoying.
There is a 2* hotel at the station if you need to sleep overnight, but is pretty expensive.
But we were very lucky and a lovely couple took us home.

Very low traffic. But just ask around for driver if they going to Poland. Best to ask to take you to BP Rowien gas station where is a lot more traffic if you are going pas Katowice.

Driver's don't really get that they can stop at the station behind you, but it's a big facility and a lot of fast moving cars. It might be worth just asking at the station.

You can try to hhike before the boarder, but drivers afraid to stop, because there are a lot of signes that do not alowd to stop and a lot of police and boarderguards who are not very friendly to hhikers. its forbiden to cross boarder by foot at this checkpoint. Don't know how it is now when Poland and Czeh are in Schengen..

To Brno. In the begining of 2007 road E462 was closed (or not finished), so all trafic to Brno went this way. How it is now - chek it:)

From citycenter take tram 7,8,9 or 17. Get out on station 17. listopadu and continue in ORIGINAL tram direction throught street Opavská cca. 1 km till you reach bus station. Almost all cars are going to Opava.

From city center go to TESCO and before the store walk along highway cca. 300m in direction to Ostrava. After big crossroad you find the petrol-station with not a lot of traffic, but all cars are going to Ostrava.

A petrol station. Good place to hitchhike towards Frýdek-Místek. Get there by taking trams 1, 6 to Kolonie Jeremenko; or by buses 39,50 to Moravská
