Pure luck, as I was pulling my sign after walking there - being dropped few hundred meters on the other direction (must cross the highway) and driver just stops for me - give me ride directly to Brno main train station.The timing was good because everyone commuting from work back to home.
The underpass below the road is not walkable as there is water and too steep slope with no space for backpack.
The maintenance road allow for easy car stop, no shade, good visibility.
Traffic light nearby so the cars are not going that fast yet.
Safer for both sides than directly the on-ramp.

Stayed on the exit, no shade.Got a lift by truck going for Zlin.
(Later that day also he would drop me eventually at 'Breclav', but he wasn't sure how long the un-loading and new cargo pickup will last so jumped out earlier at Otrokovice.)
Quite new gas station with resting area for trucks as well.
Not much traffic there. Highway is not yet finished to Brno.
Prepare for longer waiting time.
No trees, all behind the highway fence, not possible to walk away (for public transport or to camp elsewhere).

Not many people driving here to north, but I believe that it is the best and safest spot in Stare Mesto in north direction. Old man took me to main road in next village.―johnni

Pleasant place after main crossing near bus stop, train station and supermarket. Direction to south - Uherske Hradiste, Breclav, Austria... Heavy traffic, and enough place to stop for drivers. Waiting was never longer than hour.―Anonymous

Average place at bus station-enough place to stop for drivers in direction Hulin-Prerov or Hulin-Otrokovice. Heavy traffic, but many gesticulating and strange local drivers. Better to use sign or to go near gas station. Waiting for a lift can be longer than 1 hour.―Anonymous

South direction, heavy traffic, fumes and dust everywhere, wide roadside and enough place to stop, 50km/h speed limit, but I was waiting here almost 2 hours. Good place near bus stop. You can hitch in direction to Brno, Prostejov, Olomouc and Ostrava (better to use sign). There is heavy traffic, a lot of place to stop for car drivers and shelter at bus stop.―Anonymous

two guys waiting here over 90 mins on Monday about 13:30. we had a sign Brno, and in the end a friend stopped and took us to Brno. it should be a great spot, but somehow its not. Maybe inssead of the last bus station, it would be better to stand at the ramp. please comment your experience!―ESko
