Honestly, we think this spot is overrated. If you’re heading for Germany there’s far fewer passers by that are heading for the ferries than expected. It’s a perfectly fine spot for hitchhiking in the general area and N/S along E47, but we waited for quite a long while for the amount of traffic heading by.―Ledan

Relatively safe spot. There is room for the cars to stop, but larger cars might struggle. We stood for five, maybe ten minutes, before being picked up. We we’re heading southwest to the ferries to Germany. We tried a few different spots nearby as well, but this was probably where most traffic was concentrated heading southwest along E20.

Not so much traffic, but a good place to stop, and friendly people. This island is a very good place to sleep if you have a tent: free camping.―Anonymous

Big truck spot with toll office for foreign trucks. You can also get food and coffee with the drivers. If you're hitching to Germany, drivers will tell you that it's forbidden and won't take you, but you might find trucks to Sweden, Poland and the Netherlands. You can also take breaks and try with your thumb on the on-ramp, it's 1km away, or go to Nørre Aslev and take a train to Nykøbing (from there there is a bus to Gedser) if you're not lucky.―Anonymous

Stood there nearly two hours with a sign saying »Anywhere« until a nice Dane showed compassion and took us one exit farther south -- where we got a lift within a few minutes.―Stk

Especially in the evening hours camping there is the only thing you can do.―Joschi

(addendum: Hitched a ride north for two persons within ten minutes. Might have been luck, but how knows -- we had been waiting on Farø one exit farther up north for hours before ending up here)―Stk

I ended up here after a big mistake. Some German guy took me in Kopenhagen and said he could drive me to the ferry. I didn't ask which ferry, he was taking the other one (in Gedser). I was lucky after 30 minutes a women stopped. She was working in Maribo, but drove me to the ferry in Rodbyhavn―Anonymous

Quite a decent spot to get a ride towards the north (Copenhagen et al). There is a bicycle path running besides the overpass in east-west direction, making it very easy to stand right in front of the on-ramp due north, with plenty of place for cars to stop there, too.―Anonymous
