Since this is my hometown i can surely say this is the best place to hitchhike to Valmiera or Riga from Valka. Usually takes less than 30min here. No sign required since this road takes you only to big cities.―Anonymous

A bus stop there, you can start to hitchhike to Smiltene from there. The best place since all the cars have just turned from and haven't gained any speed. Depending on the time of the day, the traffic can be low sometimes.―Anonymous

This spot is on a bus stop, where can stop. Traffic is fast. At first we wanted to go to Pärnu in Estonia but after 25 minutes we stopped car to Valga.―Stepinek

Towards Tõrva, local cars coming from Hummuli or Soe use this road, so low speeds before the turn and kinda okayish amount of cars, bus stop is wide, people friendly, wait times of 20-40 minutes expected mainly due to the lack of the cars, you can try to catch cars on main road also, but there's uncomfortable hill just before and high speeds with no real side of the road there―estohiker
