If you arrive via e.g. Ryanair and want to go to Helsinki direction, it's a nice point. Many people arrive from other cities to pick up/drop their friends to/from the airport. Asking drivers for a ride works really good here.―Anonymous

A wise man once said these words about hitchhiking which have been ringing in my head ever since: "It is not popular in Finland."Anyways, it's technically a nice spot with loads of space for cars to pull over, many of which turn west onto the highway. Maybe you'll have more luck than we did.

Waited with "Kouvola" sign. About a fifth of the cars seemed to take the highway to the west (Kouvola/Mikkeli direction).Cars can stop at the bus stop and possibly by the ramp onto the highway. Got a ride to Porvoo (through Kouvola) eventually.
