Not that it is not a good place to hitchhike. It is quite a good place. Just people were full or afraid. Took us looong time to get a ride. And it was a 40 min one. Maybe it is because it is a 6 in the evening on Saturday

You must take a bus from Avignon to Remoulins and ask the bus driver to direct you to the Gare de Péage de Remoulins at Intersection 23 on A9 . This is a VERY good place to hitch South on A9

Easy spot, can be hard to go north but i have been lucky with a small ride until Mondragon just before the night.

Normal spot, just before the autoroute. Easy to stop there. I took the first car who was heading to the north. If i remember well, the problem here is that there is 2 directions (South like Montpellier or Marseille and North like Lyon).

There is A LOT of cars during summer, but it was really not easy to find a lift. A lot of dutch cars, full for camping... But then I found someone goind to Orange, so we should believe in this place

Waited with a sign for Lyon and after 5 minutes a truck driver stopped and took me as far as Luxembourg even letting me sleep on the bunk bed in the cab.
