No room for cars to stop at the end of the station, but they are still doing it. Refused one ride to Paris and one to Dijon before heading to Besançon with someone going to Montbéliard.―Anonymous

good spot for paris, great spot for north east in the summer. many cars were full, loads of benelux and german license plates from homecoming holiday go-ers, if you are looking for a ride to paris, better to hunt down plates with 75 than to stand at the entrance to the petrol station. if talking to french drivers ask for direction paris as opposed to paris itself, they might be more likely to give a ride. we saw other hitchers here but they ignored us.―BI

walking along this road at dusk in the summer we eventually thumbed a ride to Tailly where we could walk to the petrol station with good reviews in the morning. loads of nice spots to sleep at the lakes to the south.―BI

loads of multinational plates, most people are going to lyon or further south. many cars parked here during the summer are full, so expect a little longer wait times. still, even in fierce rain we got a lift to Beaune in a little over an hour.―BI

for going north (nancy) or direction paris it might be allright, but never try to get to straßbourg. we waited more than one hour before we decided to try it via metz (which was the better choice)―Anonymous

I waited 30mn at the peage with a sign for Auxerre/Paris. Nobody was going this way. I finally took a car going south (Lyon), got out on Aire de Beaune, crossed the highway and restarted asking for Paris, wich worked out quite easily.―Anonymous

Even at midnight you can get a ride, somehow useless to ask for truck drivers, refusing almost everytime for insurance reason (normal...)―Anonymous

Easy to go to Paris/North. You can cross the sides. If you come from the south and want to go to southern Germany, you have to bite the apple and try to go to direcion Besancon/Mulhouse. Should work within an hour.―Poebbels

Very easy place, we waited 15 minutes to get a car to Paris (we were two girls). The strategy is to ask to people who get back to their car and with the plates 75, 91, 92, 93, 95 or 77.―Eleo05

can take time to find a ride in direccion Mulhouse/Germany. There is a gas station between Bole and Besancon, so you can take rides from people going to Besacon.―Janpa

Good Gasstation going north via Nancy/Metz (in the Daytime). The station suff kicked us out in the night :( But in the morning we catched a ride to Wiesbaden ... Quite impossible hitchhiking in the night here.―SuperRoger

Monday morning, 2 people going to Paris. Got a ride within 10 minutes directly to Paris. Strategy: Asking at the parking spaces. If going to Paris, look out for number plates ending with 75.―Anonymous

6 offers to Paris till I asked some Germans who went towards Nancy (and then dropped my 1/3 of the way).―Anonymous

Was not too easy to get a ride direction Mulhouse but mainly because of end of vacations (full cars). Finally got a ride directly to colmar.―Ocapito

Good spot for Paris, best strategy is to ask parked drivers. Very busy with hitchers in summer it seems. A few British cars heading for Calais too.―HoratioTheHitcher

Got a ride to Dole Met 3 other hitchhikers (1+2), all of them going to Paris. (June 2014)―Ewelinalucy

great for North South traffic, bit harder to head East. after 20 min I found someone heading to Dole who dropped me at a service station (bois guillerot) to get on the West East axis. There wasn't much traffic and it was brutally cold but only waited 15min before I got a lift to Freiburg.―Petrolinmyfood
