Pretty much the first car stopped. Maybe I was just extremly lucky, but I think it's a good spot. Also quite nice surroundings in my opinion

No room for cars to stop at the end of the station, but they are still doing it. Refused one ride to Paris and one to Dijon before heading to Besançon with someone going to Montbéliard.

Not many cars, quite chill for such a big station (lots of trucks already parked for the night though, morning rides should be easy). Stood at the exit, got a ride to almost Lyon.

Stood with Lyon sign at the exit of the car area. First car stopped to Besançon, I took it. Accessed the gas station from behind as my previous driver didn't want to pay toll (there is one couple km before the station).

On a sunday afternoon, without a sign.
Not a lot of place for cars to stop because of the trucks... But a lot of cars passing by

On a sunday afternoon without a sign.
I had three possible rides in a few minutes, there is place to stop in front of the hostel, even though cars go a bit too fast to have time to stop.

best spot in the world (maybe) cars are super slow, can see you from far away and have loads of space to pull over, also a bunch of parking trucks if youre more of an asking round kinda person, bathroom and markers and cardboard can be found at the hardware store bit downhills
got picked up within few mins in the rain on an early afternoon, with signs for A36 and Lyon.

if you stand right at the roundabout exit this can be a great spot. its before the lanes split going onto the autoroute, theres lots of cars going both east and west so bringing a sign is necessary. we got a lift with a sign for besançon very quickly, theres a mcdonalds across the road where you can ask for cardboard or use their bathroom.

Great spot to go to Besançon. I had the chance to be taken as far as Besançon, but I've been on this spot only once.

ok spot, direction Lyon, fortunately after some hours a czech (same as us) with a tow truck took us all the way to Montpellier with a night stop under Lyon for sleep, we met another group of hitchhikers, but we were already full. we had a beer that evening, continued next morning, good guy (shoutout to Petr from morava, but you should have been little more talkative)

Waited about 40 minutes, got a ride straight to Lyon

Okay spot. Not much traffic, a lot of trucks tho, if youre hitchhiking alone it should be pretty good

maybe the only possible spot to get out of town. we waited long to get to the west, not many cars. maybe good to get to the east.

I used this spot many times and it's preaty good. Take the bus 34 direction Valentin, stop at "échangeur valentin" then go to the direction of the Mc Donald (you see it) using the pietonal tunnel and you will see the peage. If you don't like the peages you can write "Baume-les-dames", then for sure you will go in less than 5 minutes, and stop in the motorway station of Marchaux, 10km. it's a big station with a pietonal bridge so you can go in the two directions, here the peoples makes longer distances than the peage.

No problemo at all. After standing there for only about 5 minutes with a simple sign, a car stopped. Easy to reach by bus. Fantastic.
