spent 30 minutes at this spot standing by the advert at the edge of the roundabout, got taken directly to Bordeaux. Not the best spot as drivers don't have much time to consider their decision, but should serve to take you south out of Nantes. We took the 4 to Bourdonniéres and walked there.―brunk

First I stood closer to the gates where there's more space to pull over, but the Gendarmery told me to go in front of the highway sign (I guess, I don't speak French). It was still fine. Drivers will probably still stop right after the highway sign..Used sign "Nantes".

Heading to Ardèche, passing by Angers and trying to get to the highway.The cars don't drive too fast, and there is a lot of room to stop, I was using a sign, but I waited a lot. Perhaps it wasn't the day.

We (20 y.o.) needed a ride to Nantes, waited on the side of the roundabout where cars can very easily stop securely.We got lucky and waited no more than two minutes to get a direct ride nantes.

It's quite easy to get to the spot, but the there is not a lot of cars going on the express road. Furthermore, they can't really stop to get you in, because it's an accelerating track, but it might be safer than the Armor's roundabout.I guess I've got lucky to find one car going that far that day !

average in direction angers/le mans/tours. enough space for the cars to stop, not much traffic. if you just go to angers i would suggest to take the national road next to the spot.―Anonymous
