Third car stopped, with sign "A6 aire de lisses", very good spot to find a ride to the aire de lisses, where you can easily get longer drive. As someone said theres not much space for cars to stop, but if you're fast and you can jump in. There's also traffic lights where it might be easier.―Iaclem

Single male, no french. I came here from Paris, with Rer D train and 4307bus and a little bit of walk, around 16.45. The gas station still have a back entrance, a little hole in the fence where you can easily fit. Just becareful when passing the road as there is no light or pedestrian pass. I asked people around with a sign "Lyon Dir. A6". 3rd person I asked, was kind enough to got me into his car. He was Paul, the "Lazy Guru" :) He drove me to the gas station just north of Lyon, he was such a nice guy. We chatted all the way, around 4 hours. The gas station itself looked pretty empty at that time of the day. There is not a lot of traffic but most of the people going to Lyon direction so probably a good spot to get a ride. I was lucky this time. Good luck out there stalker!―whiterabbit

for us, it was not good. we were 3 people and we waited 5 hours for a lift down the road to Aire de Nemours. if you are alone or 2, it is probably better. two women turned up while we were waiting, they waited 10 minutes for a lift south. it is pretty easy to get to from Paris though.―Alifeee

Excellent spot pour aller vers le sud. Aire très accessible en rer D depuis Paris. Particulièrement intéressant pour la Bourgogne et Lyon―Mano75

There is a lot of traffic, but the traffic light is really fast. The people are not very nice and don’t easily give rides to strangers. However, some people are kind and might offer you a lift."―St0up

I would advise against hitchhiking here. Although there were a lot of cars, I waited a long time with a sign "A5 Sens/Troyes". There was a homeless man asking the cars at the traffic light for money, and there was no place for them to stop except there.―Thibaud

We have waited 4 hours at the morning with "Lyon" poster. Opinions were optimistic but we had a hard time there. Only one guy stopped for four hours, crazy.―LukAshe

The best solution to get out from Paris. Take a D train from Chatelêt to Villabé, or a C train to Juvisy, then another train to Villabé. Check well, not all D trains go this route. No trains after 21 h―Anonymous

Paystation "Fleury" or "Fontainebleau". Very good place to Lyon (10 min, 30 since the holydays)

peage, many trucks go this way to clermont-Ferrant, Millau and Montpellier, very good possibility for a nighttrip because of the long way.―Anonymous

we waited for a very long time, about 4 hours, though other hitch hikers got a lift after 30 min, another one after 2. it's all about luck. though in the end we found a lift to auxerre and the guy left us in front of the place we were couchsurfing.―Carlojohn

it's a very good spot once you get there. Might seem like a long shot but probably shorter than waiting 3hr at Porte Italie!―Petrolinmyfood
