Thursday evening, young solo woman trying to go to Lyon. Was super empty, very little traffic. It also seemed like the gas station was out of gas for some reason. Took 1 hour until someone offered me a ride to a better spot - Aire du Haut Koenigsbourg, where I got a ride immediately.―Celine

To go to Germany not so great. Try to find a ride to Kehl and continue from the Aral gas station there.―Anonymous

2 guys, weekday 6PMWe were heading to Switzerland using sign with CH. We waited for two hours until someone took us to "Aire de Service du Haut Koenigsbourg" gas station, definitely try to hitchhike there if you are heading to Switzerland.

One guy, one girl weekday 6PMHeading north for Saarbrücken/Luxembourg. Waited for three hours and got no ride. Almost only locals. On the next day tried to hitchhike in the morning for one hour and a half with the same result. Not recommendable. There are some nice places to sleep, though.

Dropped there one sunday night; going in direction of Paris: found many locals only going around Strasbourg or people driving to North germany. Next morning direct ride to center Paris. Good spot. Safe sleeping place under the trees around the football ground.―Fernand

Cool to be dropped off the highway/going north and south. Fred57 forget to tell you that there are very rarely controls in the tram, don't pay the ticket.―Anonymous
