Was trying to get across the ferry. There is not a lot of cars here. Had no luck, asked even the cars with the french licence plates. Then i got a ride to the port, but not across it, because the people got the cheaper ticket where you cant change the amount of passangers.―stepanfoj

Hola. Nice spot to get a lift to UK. The petrol station is located in the right side of the high way only (direction to Calais). Try to get a lift at least to the M25 (highway around London), other wise if they dont go as far as the first petrol station in England, you will have to ask a lift in Dover (is not nice, too much traffic). You can also change the vehicule in the ferry. If you try this, my advice is that you do it inmediatly after parking inside, or even better in the queue waiting for the ferry after the tickets control. Good luck my friends. very dangerous, had to run away, it's an old parking lot with many gay men masturbating and doing other things, don't go there!―Anonymous

Cars can park there quite easily, also on the parking spot right next to it. McDo is close to this position, too, for asking people. Furthermore there is a traffic light a little bit ahead towards the river, which also marks the end of possible spots to stand with a sign or the thumb since there is no place to stop a car and the traffic is getting too fast.―Anonymous

Got a ride in about 30 minutes to Calais, many people were going to the UK but did not want to take us across the boarder.―Jxroussel

I arrived here 4pm on Christmas Even 2011, waited almost 3 hours and only caught a ride as far as Calais. There was good traffic on the road, but not much passing through the petrol station.―Anonymous

Yes this service station is good, nearly everyone stopping here is going across the channel via Dunkerque or Calais. If you get stuck in Dunkerque town you can get bus 7 to Grande-Synthe and walk a couple km to this station. 25.8.11―Anonymous

I waited here but didn't catch a ride, there wasn't much traffic. The spot itself is ok, not great, but there wasn't enough people going at that time.―Chmac

It's possible to wait here. Cars have some time to see you as they come from the roundabout over a small hill. Traffic is going east or west on the highway, so a sign would be useful.―Anonymous

DFDS Seaways, Dunkirk to Dover.First guy I spoke to took me all the way to Greenwich DLR station in London.
They do not allow foot passengers so finding a driver is a must.

Bike path on the road, not much traffic going in direction of Belgium. Most people seem to scared to stop on the bike path or are too fast.

Not a lot of throughput here but a decent spot if you want to go to england. We got a ride with somebody on the boat for free. The ferry company can change the booking to include more passengers for free!―Anonymous
