Good spot for going South from Lille. It was slowish traffic but a Dutch couple picked us up and took us to Vierzon. Not to bad to get from Lille, about an hour

Single male with a huge smile. It had a lot of traffic on the morning. I waited at the very end of the station to be able to see all the cars exiting. Luckily Naim took me to the north of Paris. I was holding a cardboard " A1 Paris"

Single male, July 2026. I started waiting around 09.15. Lots of cars, and a small place to stop. Actually good stop specially in the morning. I waited 30 mins with a sign "Aire de Phalempin - A1". Thank you Anna!!

Got one ride to next town in a minute, walked to the exit with signs and thumbs and in 2min found a car to France, A1 highway. Incredibly busy here !

Was heading towards Bruxelles but after 1 hour trying under the heatwave I was close to let it go when a super nice guy stopped and offer me a lift till Amsterdam! I changed my plan and voilà!
I think the spot under the bridge is better than thé previous one because you can get shelter from the sun, and people can see where to stop... Don't know if a good spot for Bruxelles in the end...

Was heading towards Belgium and didn't want to enter Paris. Had a pannel "Vers Bruxelles" which was quite ambitious but in the end it worked, a ddrievr took me all the way until Lille, avoiding crossing Paris with public transportation under the heatwave. I put myself at the end of the pétrole station and waited. Good traffic on the station

Great spot. Just ask to the people, some are going west and some east, even some of them north Normandy to Granville.
I waited for 45mn and then found two cars at the same time for Lille.
I had a sign Rouen.

moved here after waiting closer to the Ferry Port roundabout for a bit. Got a lift after an hour or so with someone. They'd bought the wrong ticket and had no leftover money so we paid for some of the new car ticket. c'est la vie.

While on the ferry we asked for lifts to Paris, but nobody was going (nor did it seem like anyone else but our lift would have picked us up from the street - maybe lucky!), so we went to Lille to stay the night. Successfully asked someone on the street to stay at their place.

it's an ok spot for cars to stop. we were not waiting long. our lift was not going very far, but took us to a roundabout on the A1. In retrospect, we should have asked them to drive an extra 10 minutes to a service station, as the roundabout (and nearby toll booth) were not good for us to hitch from (3 people)

Very good spot. Got picked to Lille within 10 minutes. Perfect to stand in between the lanes.

Usually a good spot if you want to go to Valenciennes (everyone seemed to be going there) and further down to Paris. I wanted to go to Lille though and it took me a full 3 hours to find someone. I did find a right directly to my destination though, they even did a detour for me, so that was super sweet. It was pretty late at that point (I waited from 7 to 10 pm so I imagine that it was getting late might have toggled a little pity)

Not to much traffic, plenty of space to stop. Got a direct ride to Paris.

With sign "Paris". After 88 minutes decided to take the tram to the south.
