Zero traffic, an absolutely dead service station, with very grumpy security to boot, who clearly have zero knowledge about Frances hitching laws. We thought we’d be sleeping here until an absolutely lovely doctor in a sports car offered to take us to Antibes, an absolute no brainer of a yes! To boot, he even dropped us at an excellent spot to leave Antibes which is definitely a win! The sign here simply read “Nice”―Paquito

We were stood with a sign for “A8 Nice” which was a dodgy move given the circumstances. Everybody was stopped for lunch, and we absolutely needed somebody who was passing Aix-En-Provence because there’s nowhere to stop before there and you don’t want to be caught in the city, the majority of the trafic is headed on the A7 to Marseille so for there you’d have no troubles at all! Eventually we were approached by this lovely hippy family who gave us a ride up the motorway to another service station on the A8.―Paquito

Stood here with a sign for about 15 min after we got dropped. It's a small stopping space/parking lot after the toll booth. Some dutch guy who worked different jobs in bars in southern France for 16 years now an a woman from southern france took us close to Montpellier. We we're lucky because 5 min after we got picked up it started raining :D―Phoeni.x ger

Good spot to catch a ride because the highway coming from Toulone and from Aix-en-Provence join in unique one. So respect to the service station before there are more cars passing by.―Anonymous

Still a lot of traffic, everyone slows down at the roundabout but most people weren't ready to take someone in their car or where going to Nice while I was going the opposite direction. Pretty hard to get a ride. Someone took me to Le Muy where there was an other good spot―Alexis
