Single male, no French, big laugh but started to disappear after 5 hours. I arrived this place at 14.00. FIRST DAY, I waited 4 hours until I decided to set my tent. I tried everything, sign with "Lyon, Sud de Paris, Paris", thumb, askimg around and nothing. Plenty of cars, actually ton of them but no one was taking me. As you get closer to Paris you see that "Parisian" nonwelcoming attitude. I set my tent at the north western end of the Aire, next to where truck restpoints were. Nobody bothered me. Asked Mcdonals for cardboards and they gave me some. Chill place as I think they are kind of used to hitchhikers. And second day, I started early and tried to catch early birds. After 1 hour with sign of Lyon I got back to Paris. First I wanted to avoid Paris and hoping to find a long distance ride who was also gonna skip the city. But as the suffering progressed, I understood that I dont have the luxury to make a wish. After 2 hours, two hitchhiker girls came next to me. we chatted a little bit, I told them I was waiting here for 8 hours now and told them they have more chance then me, they found a ride 5 minutes later. They asked people. After few more hours bees started to attack me so I changed my position. this cursed land doesnt wanted me in their premises. When I came back I saw a couple who was doing the thumbs up in my old spot. Talked with them! They were cool and I stood a little front of them for an hour. I didnt wanted to spent another day in this gas station so I gave up to hitch to the closest bus stop and move to Paris. Right before I leave the gas station, this crazy french chick Illen stopped in front of me with a handbrake! She asked me where, and I said anywhere! She took me to a train station in Paris, Pierrefitte Stains. Then I took the D train to south from there. It is lovely how universe giving you small surprises in these frustrating moments :D So total 9 hours of waiting time. A lot of cars, but they are not picking. this seems the best way out of Paris without standing on the side of the road. We were 3 people, so we wanted somewhere good. as others say, you can access it via a bus. walk to the end of the wall and through some bushes and voìla. we got a lift to Aire de Ressons, an hour or so north, towards Lille. there were lots of people here.―Alifeee

Good spot but a lot of locals and taxis to that went to the airport…… We were lucky to get a minibus to Brusel. It is a bit tricky to get there the door was not open so we had to go to the end of the fence and around through the Forrest Jungle and that the most dangerous you have to walk on the road where the cars speed up from the gas station to the highway. But is is just a few seconds walk to the station……―NTKtriohitch

Easy ride out to A1 toward north and Belgium , some traffic and trafic light for cars to stop. Picked up in 20 with a cardboard that said A1. Should be easy to get north once you are on a highway stop―Anonymous

I already used this spot to go to Lille but it is not that good after all, a lot of people are going to the airport and you can get stuck. Try Aire de Vémars Est if you want to go north it is way better―Mano75

A guy and a girl without a sign. We got there quite late, at 11.30pm, and tried to get to "Aire de Limours/Briis sous forge" south of Paris from here.Did not work at all : some people were trying to help us, but only went to morth-east of Paris, and there was no one there after 1am so we went to sleep. The staff was very friendly and offered us some pain au chocolat and hot chocolate because the machine didn't work well for us, and we could set the tent at the back of the restplace without anyone bothering us at all. In the morning we waited one more hour before somebody took us to Saint-Denis' train station, as everybody else ignored us.

and added us to his load.
This spot is good for Beauvais
or anywhere north on your way,
just be sure to bring a sign
and youll leave paris in no time :)

If you want to get on the A13 towards Normandie this is the only good spot. Stand on the sidewalk and hold a sign saying A13. Cars can stop on the right lane or drive off the road next to the parking garage.―Voulez
