we got a bus here from Grenoble, took around 1h30m. We were waiting a long time as we were 3 people. Otherwise, it seemed fine.―Alifeee

we stopped here trying to get a lift onward to services north of Lyon. instead, we got picked up and went straight to Grenoble, our destination. it was a Sunday, so maybe more chance of travel.―Alifeee

Perfect spot. Sunday morning, lots of international and long distance cars, going in all directions. Couldn't find cardboard so just thumbed, and got a ride all the way to Barcelona, my ultimate destination.―Anonymous

Lots of cars going slow in only two rows, going both south and north. Cold sunday morning. Got a ride just thumbing to Grenoble, although sign would probably be better.―Anonymous

There's an elongated parking spot to the right after the toll, where people can stop easily before they speed up. Had lost of cars even crossing from the further side of the road. Sign Chambery, got me to the Gare. Should be perfect for going direction Italy too, and getting long rides.―Anonymous

In theory this should be a good spot for going far, but most of the cars were local, or going direction Italy. Got a ride to Crolle in an attempt to hitch the toll, where I got better results.―Anonymous

Chill gas station, not hat many cars but lots of international plates. Had a sign Chambery, got ride to after Grenoble at the third car passing. Should be quite easy to get rides direction Geneve or Italy too.―Anonymous

Super spot avec de la place pour s'arrêter et un panneau de stop. Accesible a pied depuis Vizile―Anonymous

All the people from the area pass through here to go to Grenoble. There is a lot of traffic, and the people are very nice.―St0up

Don’t go here if you are going south. Everyone is going to the mountains. We ended up running over the highway to get to the other side. There we got a ride to Valence―Aksel

It's hard to rate this one. It seems like a perfect spot because all traffic is joining the road to the North East (the road I wanted) and there's a gas station where you can talk to drivers. Some people stopped on the road. Everyone I spoke to was friendly. Everyone I spoke to was only going 10 minutes up the road. In the end, I took a bus to Geneva to meet a friend.Other people might have more luck!

I think this is a terrible spot. It's a very busy road. The traffic lights are very short and there is nowhere obvious for cars to pull in (there is a car park if cars go right but it's not obvious or possible for all cars). In the end, I moved to a different spot.―Anonymous

Walked from two previous unsuccessful spots (got dropped on the wrong side of town and had to take a tram) and was picked up immediately. I should have been more selective because the ride didn't take me very far. I was just excited to get out of the sun and into an air conditioned car. I think this would be a good spot for going northeast out of town.―Anonymous

People go fast at the exit but there is a lot of cars and enough place to stop. 2 cars stop in 5 minutes but the first didn't go to Grenoble, second car was perfect.―Anonymous

Lots of cars but they can see you enough time ago and there is space. At mid afternoon in summer it's in the shadow of the tree and the sun is not in your eyes.―Anonymous
