Spot was fine, not many cars when I was there, but lots of trucks. A truck driver from Uzbekistan finally picked me up after 30 minutes.

It's a pretty good place to continue east or west (2 other hitchhikers where there). However, I strongly recommend talking to cars rather than standing there with your thumb out.

To Paris
I didn't wait that long but I was quite lucky, since there was only a few cars going to the North. Most of the vehicles were lorries going North-East. I wouldn't recommend it!

I wanted to go to North but I find nobody, I moved after 3 hours. I think peag is better, you have a lot of place there. For going Lyon or Narbonne, people are stopping on that place (lot of people stop but nobody going to the north).
