Most people were going to Paris, but I got extremely lucky and very soon found a couple taking me all the way to Düsseldorf, Germany!I arrived there when it was already dark so it was a plus that you can technically reach Orleans by public transport if you don’t have a tent nor want to spend the night outside. Also there is probably more traffic there in summer or during the day with people going further than Paris

It’s really a bad place with only like 10 trucks - I, solo female, started feeling unsafe quickly but I got extremely lucky and found two very nice truck drivers who offered me food and coffee and after waiting with them until their break was over (4 hours😭) because no one else would take me / my motivation to ask truck drivers in the rain was not so high either they took me to orleans. But on the positive side it’s walkable distance to some small city so you’re not completely lost in the wild as I felt at first.―Anonymous

DIRECTION BLOIS-TOURSAnyway the sidewalk is too big and the speed too fast. However it works better when the traffic is low and if you have a sign to "st jean de la ruelle", keep walking...
DIRECTION PARIS Take the bus to go to the toll is the best solution

DIRECTION PARIS - TOURSA toll is always a good place, and ths one is in the north near from the industries, so maybe good to go really far with a truck.
Waiting : 15/ 25 min
Traffic : 15 cars and truck by minute

Really hard to leave there. Got dropped and couldn't keep on. Try to avoid the N, because you can't reach the Highway easily (tried but couldn't get in). I (a girl) got hit on by a 'little person', who asked for sex for a ride, after I got in. Be careful.―Anonymous

Truck stop close to here, just walk along and you'll find it. I got lucky I guess, but check it out if you're stuck.―Anonymous

I use this spot quite often and it worked well most of the time. You can use it for all highway directions if you get a ride to the big Orleans-Saran service Area (10 km heading to Paris). There you can cross the highway to head south!!―Petequero

Yep, no need to hitch from here! Head north to the station service towards Paris/Tours/East instead, a mere 5min walk on a paved road.―Hydra supertramp

I had a horrible experience here. I was trying to get onto the A71 with a sign. After many many hours I decided to head North towards Paris and get off at a station service or another junction. Excellent spot for going north. Anything else - this is a terrible place!―Haggismn
