I went to Caen from here.
There is a space to stop cars

Not a very good spot and very illegal but enough space for cars to pull over and take you. Take the bus to Mondeville and just jump the fence behind the Cinema. You can also sleep between the trees then just hitchhike in the morning, we had a tent and had no problems.
We were 2 guys standing with a sign for Paris and got a ride to 19th district.

A lot of space for cars to pull over and take you, and a lot of tourists heading to Caen.
Tried sitting here as 2 guys with a sign for Caen and got a ride directly to the city center within 15 minutes.

good to drive you to the highway to Paris

La direction indique A13/Paris. Cependant, en pleine journée et en période de fête, aucune voiture ne s'est arrêtée pendant 2 heures.
Conseil: rejoindre l'aire de repos de Giberville par la N175.
A sign indicates A13/Paris. However, in good conditions, no car stopped in 2 hours. Advice: reach the Giberville service area by N175.

Aire d'autoroute. Bon endroit vers Avranches/Rennes.

you have to pass behind a store called Boulanger, cross walk through the grass and you're on the only road to the highway

I found this spot not quite interesting when going in direction of Paris or Roazhon/Rennes. You should probably wait for 20 to 30 min... Not to bad indeed

Just ask people if they're going where you want to go. It's much easier and faster.

Very easy to reach from the centre commercial (just follow the explanations on the hitchwiki page), we (guy+girl) got a lift straight to the centre of Paris in a few minutes.
