banger, i find this one reliable to go far into france direction reims. heading northwest, don't bother taking rides shorter than aire du haut-koenigsbourg. there's plenty of ppl going long distances, especially luxembourg/belgium. also loads of german cars.

Thanks you Pierre Yves. Took me literally a minute to have a driver to Strasbourg

Low traffic in early morning, got a lucky ride to Austria.
I've seen mostly local plates and several german ones, I've been told that people going to Strasbourg from Metz prefer to take the free motorway through Nancy.

Peage/Toll for the West (Metz, Paris, etc) and the East (Germany, Strasbourg, etc.)

Longeville - a pretty busy service station, even after dark.

We asked truckers and in 45 minutes we had a ride to Manheim.

Most of the people are going to Strasbourg, some to Rheinland and just a little direction Nürnberg.

Many cars and trucks. My experience is they are going essentially to strasbourg

Been here twice - took me both times about 1 hour to catch a ride towards southern Germany. Strasbourg/Switzerland is easier

There is quite a lot of trucks going to the east direction.

very good for west/north, but almost nobody going to Nancy/south. In case you want to go to Nancy/Lyon, better get the first lift to Metz Center and walk to the petrol station in Metz(see articel about Metz)

Most cars go to Metz. A German truck took me to Luxembourg (where I wanted to) after one hour.

good place, average traffic (so it will depend a lot on time, date and so on).

Good spot to go to France, but we weren't lucky...

Reached this station at midnight on a Friday to continue towards Germany. Probably not the best idea but we were stuck here all throughout the night (it was horrible). Lots of trucks but very few cars. Even in the morning we couldn't find anyone. We ended up getting on the other side of the highway (there's a small underground passage) and hitchhike back to "Aire de Longeville" and getting a ride to Strasbourg. Best decision ever
