We were 2 people in the middle of the 2 roads going to the highways next to the bus stop. We wanted to go to Orléans. The spot is kinda tricky cause a lot of cars are passing but most of them are going to paris and they are driving fast. They can stop between the bicycle way and a street. We found a ride to the rest area of beaugency on the A10 affer waiting 80min

If you stand the other side from the traffic light, it is safe and you can even sit on the fence... :)
Get there from tram 1 - Haluchères and then bus 85 - méditerranée or 77 - Adrienne Bolland and walk a few minutes. Otherwise walk from halucheres but it's a bit long.

It's a pretty good place to continue east or west (2 other hitchhikers where there). However, I strongly recommend talking to cars rather than standing there with your thumb out.

It's not ideal because hitchhiking is prohibited at toll booths in France (the police won't give you a fine tho), but I was fortunate and got picked up after 5min. Cars can stop at the rest area to pick you up, and you can also ask drivers there.

Not a really good spot to head towards Tours but still feasible. I advise you to have a sign to show your direction as this spot goes to 2 different directions. I also advise you to be close to the toll so you can easily see and talk to the drivers.
