Amazing spot, walked 2km to get here from the highway, but lots of cars here due to a toll station and they stop for that and also toilets here. Very good spot

I didn't think this was that good a spot, because there was barely any traffic and nowhere that good to stop. But, then I got picked up in 8 minutes... In the evening when it was dark

We were walking around the gas station and asking people with a sign to Montpellier, suddenly a guy came to us and said he's going to Andorra. We were trying to get to Barcelona, so we were very lucky!

Worst spot ever no one stoped after more then 5 hours and even worse in the evening some French people started throwing rocks at me and i was feeling very unsafe.

Honestly I've been lucky to find someone in 10mn for Monaco. It's a very tiny place with very few cars and if unlucky I'm sure you can wait hours

Great place to be seen, a lot of drivers. Thanks Sam for the ride!

Came here 21:45 in the evening.
We were three people, but even so we got a ride with not waiting long. People here were all very nice and wanted to help. Just such a jolly place!

Two guys with sign to Monaco. There’s bus stop where car can stop so pretty good place. Maybe also good for getting to Italy from Nice.

According the man who dropped us off, an Antibes local, this is the best spot for getting out. The stream of cars is constant, and we barely had to wait five minutes with our “Nice” sign for a man in a van to pull up and offer a ride, he even gave us a free Nice tram pass, before dropping us off at the tram stop, and telling us exactly what stop to get off at for the old town (T2 to Port Lympia)

Zero traffic, an absolutely dead service station, with very grumpy security to boot, who clearly have zero knowledge about Frances hitching laws. We thought we’d be sleeping here until an absolutely lovely doctor in a sports car offered to take us to Antibes, an absolute no brainer of a yes! To boot, he even dropped us at an excellent spot to leave Antibes which is definitely a win! The sign here simply read “Nice”

Here is the perfetc spot for going South and East. However, if you want to go Spain don't come here late in the day. drivers are not willing to give you a lift because they drive long and they want to have a rest somewhere before Spanish border. We waited more than 3 hours after noon. But if you come early morning you can increase your luck towards Spain. Good luck!

just ask people on the traffic light if they drive out of town, if you don't wanna waste time taking a bus outside of town!worked pretty good at this spot here, so would be interesting if you give it a try

Same as the other two. Bon Voyage bus stop. But zoom in on satelite view and look at this marker. If you are heading West just walk a ways next to the on-ramp (past the overpass) and you´ll see a great spot where there is a perfect shoulder for cars to pull off for you.
