In the afternoon, I (female) wait for 1 min with a sign « Lyon » and have a proposition to Givors (south Lyon) that I didn’t take and I wait for 5 minutes and another car stop and bring me to the metro of Venitieux where I catch a metro to Lyon center.―Anonymous

Nobody was stopping, maybe it's to close to the begining of the highway―Xscherp

The spot is not too bad but there is actually very few cars there. My advice is to ask to go the next gas station at Isle-d'Abeau. However I got a ride from Jules to Chambéry !―cavalierrustique

I walked back and forth with my sign with "A6" written on it between this spot and the other one about ten meters further ahead marked on this map (look for the upside down triangle sign with "cedez passage" written below, there was a hitchwiki sticker sticked on it!), thumb up hoping to get a liftAfter an hour or a bit more I got a lift by a vanlifer who dropped me in a gas station 20 minutes north, which I sadly didn't save up in my maps so now I don't remember where it was

Very very big toll ! My precedent ride dropped me just after the tollgate, where the trucks rest. I tried asking them but they were not allowed to take hitchhikers :( and people speed up after the toll so they were not really seeing me. So I crossed the toll to go just before (be careful doing this so that the cars don't crush you haha), and people were seeing me better. But even if there were a lot of cars I still waited 30 min on this side of the toll, then a nice guy from another toll entry called me and took me further haha―Anonymous

Most cars going to Lyon center, but still found one to take me north. I was going to Strasbourg, my ride was short but still helped me to go closer :)Also it's a nice spot with place for cars to stop and a good visibility.

Traveling alone. Tried both sign and thumb+sign.Came all the way here from Lyon center. It was NOT worth it.
Tons of traffic, but very few cars going towards Geneva (or they simply did not want to take me)
Early in the morning it probably works better because many people work near Geneva and live in Lyon

close to highway leaving lyon in all directions. Better to stay before the stoplight where many cars stop, otherwise cars go too fast and can't stop.―masahitch

Awful spot, after 2,5 hours someone finally stopped and brought me to Lyon. I tried standing before and after the gates, had a sign with Lyon/Nord and also tried just thumbing.―Menno

Good spot, a lot of cars, but everyone going in different directions (mostly just Montpellier), so you need a sign. Got picked to Lyon after about 40 minutes.―Anonymous
