got a ride comedically fast. stood with my thumb out, smiling, with a sign saying 'NORTH A20' just after the bus stop at midday on a thursday. they dropped me at montauban toll booth where i got an immediate ride to paris. great shade before the afternoon, too.

Found a ride to Toulouse! Cars were passing by slowly and a lot of them that couldn't take me waved, also nice spot!

Good spot but not much space to pull over. Had a sign for Andorra, got picked up in 25 minutes to Palmiers by a couple going to a festival.

Barely any traffic but lots of people willing to stop. Many going to Toulouse but I denied some of the rides there as I was going towards Andorra but I ended up going to Toulouse for the night.

We tried asking people at the toilet but there were not that many so we stood infront of the green thing and got a ride

I think I got big luck. I was dropped but my previous car when a couple of Belgium came to me asking me where I was heading. There didn't seem to be a lot of traffic at that moment of the day.

Good spot to HH. Good traffic, at least 8 car/min. Quite an adventure to reach the gas station from Paris. Metro, RER, a bus and 45min walk in the sun but worth it. I climbed a 180cm wall to get into the station but there is some kind of hole in the metallic fence that can be used too. I waited 1h10 with my thumb and a sign to Orleans and Clermont Ferrand. There was a lot of family with full cars, foreigners (NL, B, D) and french. I got luck and found a car heading to Toulouse.
I recommend wondering around and asking people I they will accept you in their car.

We went to Tarbes/Lurdes, as a couple we got a place quite fast (although there are just the drivers from one direction), a good spot in shadow near a Spar shop.

A good place to hitchhike to both directions - at the end of the parking exit just before the roundabout there is a spot in shadow. As a couple we got a place quite fast to Toulouse. Also possible to eat/drink your own food inside the station, where is a quite rest area with tap water and toilets.

A good spot to go in the direction of mediterain sea. I waited 35 minutes for 130 km to narbonne. Shadow, space, toilettes , food and water.
