Nice spot to go to Montbéliard, cars see you from far away, they are slow because of a traffic light and they can easily stop because there are parking lots, recommend

A driver took us here from belfort. Really uncomfortable spot for us and not much place for the cars to stop

if you stand right at the roundabout exit this can be a great spot. its before the lanes split going onto the autoroute, theres lots of cars going both east and west so bringing a sign is necessary. we got a lift with a sign for besançon very quickly, theres a mcdonalds across the road where you can ask for cardboard or use their bathroom.

there is space to pull over after the sign but many drivers cant see it until they get off the roundabout. possible drivers to stop in the roundabout though, but theyd have to really want to because its a bit risky. we waited an hour with a sign for dijon, but got a lift when we switched to one saying A36. if you want to hitch from here bring a sign for Montbelliard or Besançon. traffic was good around mid day, you could probably get a lift really quickly during peak commuter hours.

I waited on the roundabout before the border for 3 hours on a Monday morning in October, until a woman gave me a lift to Moutier. The border (and the road back) can only be crossed by car. The advice is to accept any lift (I refused one to Porrentruy after 1h30 and regretted it shortly after), even short distances.

Large service station, open & warm 24/7. Cars to Germany, Strasbourg, Switzerland etc.

Often going to France from Freiburg.
I use bus/tram to get to the spot, then trying to catch a car. Most cars to the south, so finding a French car can take a long time. Stil the best option I found so far to travel Freiburg->France.

One driver took us here from Belfort (we were on a way to Lyon). He did recommend us this place that it is better than Belfort. Worst idea, only after “HELP” sign we did get on the way.

Horrid spot to be, heavy traffic but no place to stop for the cars. Still, only place out of Montbéliard in direction of Pont-de-Roide I guess? Met a very kind family that exited the roundabout, parked their car, and came back to fetch me.

A lot of traffic here but almost no place for cars to stop. Uncomfortable for us to be here but we were lucky.

You'll get picked up towards Porrentruy in a matter of seconds, if you wait a few cars it's easy to get to get to Delémont as well. As everywhere in the region, a lot of traffic in the morning from French people working in Switzerland.

Some guys told us, this is good spot to catch a ride west. We stood there for like an hour with a sign Besancon. Finally some women from restaurant took us at least to Montbeliard (but that was a shitty place to take a ride west)
