Just like previous reviews mentions getting lift for Lyon direction is little bit hard but doable

Big Parking Space with a lot of cars. Mostly people on vacation. We (2) ask around and after half an hour found a long ride almost to Spain.

After 2 hours took the train instead, not worth the hastle, bike lanes make it hard for cars to stop.

Lots of traffic, got a ride to Nancy, one man one womman one wheelchair. The pedestrian underpass has been rebuilt so you can change direction here too.

We (2 people) found a ride to Nancy after 25min. It's possible for the cars to stop at the side. People were going to Tours and Orleans also

Reached this spot via urban bus. There's a boulangerie where I bought lunch (the clerk spoke italian, incredible!) and a pharmacy in the vicinity

Waited with a sign with "Belgique ou Nord" written on it and after 20 minutes or so I got a lift to Metz

Amazing place to go north because, as my chauffeur explained to me, all the cross-border workers pass through here in order to go to Luxembourg and additionally they can stop easily because it's a bus stop with an additional lane behind your back

Tried to go south to Dijon, but most cars went west or even North/East, because there is a bridge to the other side of the highway wich quite a few people take. Eventually I had to take a ride into a slidely different direction than planned. But it tourned out very nice!

Interesting spot. The service station is quite dead. But it is possible (and also legal I think) to stand next to the Autobahn, since they are going relatively slow there. There is also space for the cars to stop but no one did. Eventually I got a Truck driver from the Service Station.

Standing on the on ramp with a Nancy sign, cars have space to pull over on the right. Got a direct ride to the center of Nancy.

// there's grass and some sidewalk around the roundabout where the cars can stop

// we had a sign to Strasbourg, it was easier than talking to people in the parking lot because we're close to the border and didn't know if the people spoke french, dutch or german before talking to them

It's super fine for going to south of France. But apparently not so many people want to go to Nancy.
