Waited over an hour, tried hitching by the road (with a sign) and asking at the gas stations but seemed to only be local traffic. Eventually someone stopped and drove out of their way to drop me along the A13

On a Sunday it’s not very busy, however most cars are headed to Poland. There are 3 exits that join into one at the end of the gas station, we (2) stood on the intersecting island and were picked up quickly by a lovely Polish couple. The spot is quite annoying to get to, especially in the weekends where the bus service barely runs! We had to hitchhike from the nearest by train station to the gas station, however this too was quite quick.

Lots of Polish trucks resting. Passenger cars mostly local traffic. But some Polish drivers returning back home. I got lucky and made it all the way to other side of Poland.

I barely managed to lift my sign "Denmark/Hamburg" And got a ride straight to Kolding, 549km. Insane.

Maybe an illegal spot? I don't know, but I got a ride easily to Berlin. A lot of space to stop.

You can not get to Berlin from here, so you have to hitchike to Rangsdorf first, on the ramp that turns to Berlin. No one goes to Berlin through this gas station.

I tried with sign "Świecko" For like 2 hours, no luck getting past Poznań. I switch the sign to Poznań, get a ride straight to Berlin. XD

To anyone aiming for this spot, be it the petrol station or the side of the road : go somewhere else !
I got extremely lucky, my driver was local and did a lot of hitchhiking. There are currently roadworks on the highway, so if you want to go to Hamburg this is a bad spot.
He suggested going further south, near the beginning of the A111 highway.

Not a lot of place for cars to stop, but I guess if they want to they can manage to find a spot

This spot gets a lot of traffic (all cars getting on the Autobahn to Hamburg). We were 2 people with a sign for Hamburg. Several reviews recommended the spot 500m south, at the traffic light, but it is before the intersection and in consequence got a third of the traffic. We we switched to the present spot, we had more people waiving to us and we eventually found a ride (after 30 min at this spot).

Hitchhiked in a group of three on Easter Monday and asked around at the parking lot/picnic area. There were plenty of cars heading to Berlin and we were offered various lifts for just one or two until we found a car with space all of us.
If you are arriving from the South on the B 195, your driver doesn’t even need to enter the A 24. The route shown on Google Maps would mean an unnecessary detour if they just want to drop you without using the gas station. Instead, tell them to drive up to the rest area from the back via the street “Am Heisterbusch”. The street is blocked for cars just at the entry to the rest area so this is a great spot to be dropped off and will save them 15 minutes of unnecessary driving on the Autobahn.

Good spot since cars often have to slow down because of the traffic light. Stood there with a “HH” sign in the late afternoon of Good Friday and caught a lift heading to Lübeck.

Waited for 50 mins with a “HH” sign without success and then walked a bit citywards to a much better spot where I caught a lift at the traffic light near Lidl within minutes. Doesn’t look like such a bad spot though many cars leaving the city are already on the left lane and it would make it a slightly bigger effort for them to stop. Many Danish number plates in the afternoon of Good Friday.

Many cars going. Not the best space to stop but ok.

We were preparing to wait for a long time. But it only took 15 minutes until a nice Ukraine guy picked us up.

Stand right beside the traffic light so people can see you from the car when the light is red(Make yourself bigger). As cars go fast here.
Drivers can easily pullover at the bus stop, which is right ahead of traffic stop.
