Super useful spot for going North or South. A little awkward as cars can come from the fuel or road or chocolate place but all of them are useful cars―Kjmurray1230

Nice spot if you’re trying to get into Munich. I had a local pickup and took me 40 min to the other side of the city. Was very nice. Idk if ppl need a good spot to get inside the city but hope this helps.―Wiisportzs

Great spot towards Munich. Made a sign for Munich and some people in the parking lot waved me over since they were also going to Munich!―Arcturus

Good Spot, asked for a Ride a the parking Spot. If u don‘t find a Ride u can sleep with a hammock in the woods behind the gas station.―Schlaurenz5

Asked cars and the first one we asked got us all the way to München and we could sleep in their car. They asked us for documents which is understandable since we were entering the EU―Lyll

Two guys heading to Belgium, had a sign saying Nürnberg / Frankfurt. Took a while, tried standing by the exit and asking people as they arrived. Eventually found a Belgien car driving to Ghent, the guy let us stay in his cousin's apartment overnight then took us the rest of the way the next morning.―Wienerpolser

There is a new tunnel that bypasses Oberau. As a result, hardly any cars drive through the village anymore.―Anonymous

We waited with a sign just before the entrance to the gas station. Good visibility and lots of traffic, but also lots of local traffic...―Anonymous

We got stuck at this gas station on Sunday evening from 18:00 till 22:00…then we decided to go to sleep behind the nearby restaurant. We started hitchhiking on Monday morning at 6 am and we were picked up by nice driver at 8 am who drove us at least to the following gas station (18 km away - we are stuck here now…so for 2,5 hours and still waiting while writing this review). We are two girls. Trying hitchhing with/without a sign and even approaching people as we are so desperate. Nothing seems to work. We wanted to go to direction of Norimberk. Preferably Regensburg, Pilsen and final destination Prague. This never happend to us. Ususally we wait like 30 minutes. Münich seems like a very bad place for hitchhiking as we were stuck at another gas station on north (aiming south) for 3,5 hours.―Nicolette
