Found a ride fairly quickly despite two other hitchhikers trying the same spot. My driver took me to Raststätte Samerberg.―Kartenhouse

Stood here and further down at the gas station for about an hour. Was about to leave till a guy going to Zagreb took me to the last gas station before the Austrian border.―Anonymous

A lot of trafic, but people are hesitant to take. We approached a minivan after 1 hour and they cleaned the space for us inside―Anonymous

friday morning, around 11AM, July, going towrds Berlinspent the night in my tent behind the station in a little patch of trees, very quite. loads of trucks and cars, i took me a bit to get a ride until the next gas station on A9
i was hitchhiking at the entrance of the highway since there were not many cars stopping for petrol, mostly for food/toilets (at least at this time)
a police car drove pass me and said nothing (its always my biggest fear)
station is good. expensive, but there are toilets for truck drivers that are free and they have drinking water, so dont get fooled by the shops

10AM thursday morning on early july, going towrds berlini spent less than 2 hours asking cars and trucks at the gas station...some trucks going south, until a young guy took meon his truck to munich, he was actually going to berlin but had to stop cus of driving hours
no one from the staff bothered me to walk around the station as it happened elsewhere

Waited just in front of the gas station exit with a sign Salzburg and OST, got a ride to the petrol station on the A8. Very easy for cars to pull in and lots of traffic at 9am on a Saturday morning―Anonymous

Absolutely horrible gas station. We wanted to go to Munich but cars were either full or going in Austria. Maybe try to go to another one.―Anonymous

gas station M.East - a lot of transit traffic, North, South, East! The way description:Take the S-Bahn to the station \"Vaterstetten\", walk down the Bahnhofstreet, turn left and out of the city until you reach a traffic-circle where you have to turn left and after 1,5 km you reach the highway bridge where a path leads you to the rest stop.

I live near salzburg and always when i want to get home from munich i use this spot. i think its a great spot. people are waiting at the traffic lights and see you long before they pass by you and when they do they are relatively slow. most of the times im not waiting longer than 15/30 minutes to get a ride―Arno Nuem
