We waited with a sign just before the entrance to the gas station. Good visibility and lots of traffic, but also lots of local traffic...

We got stuck at this gas station on Sunday evening from 18:00 till 22:00…then we decided to go to sleep behind the nearby restaurant. We started hitchhiking on Monday morning at 6 am and we were picked up by nice driver at 8 am who drove us at least to the following gas station (18 km away - we are stuck here now…so for 2,5 hours and still waiting while writing this review). We are two girls. Trying hitchhing with/without a sign and even approaching people as we are so desperate. Nothing seems to work. We wanted to go to direction of Norimberk. Preferably Regensburg, Pilsen and final destination Prague. This never happend to us. Ususally we wait like 30 minutes. Münich seems like a very bad place for hitchhiking as we were stuck at another gas station on north (aiming south) for 3,5 hours.

Saturday in April, either the A8 or A9 was good for my route to Belgium. Most cars were full or drove into Munich. Eventually, a business man took me in direction of Ulm.

Quiet Saturday, but a Slovenian Woman driving to München took me to the last gas station before München.

was okay. I started very early and the station was still quiet empty. I stood in front of the pertrolstation entrance with a sign saying Austria and Budapest and talked to people as well. Long time waiting what so ever

Found a ride fairly quickly despite two other hitchhikers trying the same spot. My driver took me to Raststätte Samerberg.

Met two other hitchhikers here randomly, and we found rides in two cars within 15 minutes. Amazing spot going south!

Got a ride to Salzburg after two hours...but it was a public holiday in Germany so a lot of families with no room in cars.

Stood here and further down at the gas station for about an hour. Was about to leave till a guy going to Zagreb took me to the last gas station before the Austrian border.

A lot of trafic, but people are hesitant to take. We approached a minivan after 1 hour and they cleaned the space for us inside

friday morning, around 11AM, July, going towrds Berlin
spent the night in my tent behind the station in a little patch of trees, very quite. loads of trucks and cars, i took me a bit to get a ride until the next gas station on A9
i was hitchhiking at the entrance of the highway since there were not many cars stopping for petrol, mostly for food/toilets (at least at this time)
a police car drove pass me and said nothing (its always my biggest fear)
station is good. expensive, but there are toilets for truck drivers that are free and they have drinking water, so dont get fooled by the shops

10AM thursday morning on early july, going towrds berlin
i spent less than 2 hours asking cars and trucks at the gas station...some trucks going south, until a young guy took meon his truck to munich, he was actually going to berlin but had to stop cus of driving hours
no one from the staff bothered me to walk around the station as it happened elsewhere

I wasn't even standing in position with my sign yet, when a guy walked up to me and offered me a ride with his group way beyond Salzburg.
