To be honest, not that great spot for Nürnberg direction, all of the truck go to Frankfurt, but it you are lucky, you can still get really nice hitch.

Ask around, you will definitely find somebody going in your direction.

Two guys on a hot summer's Tuesday morning. 4 or 5 cars stopped for us, before we found one going south on the A5. Not that great a spot, but perhaps still the best available.

I was thumbing at the end of the service station. 10 minutes later I got a lift to Karlsruhe. Perfect.

Got here by Bus 620 from Braunschweig city hall. Took me 50 minutes max. As there was not much traffic I was thumbing at the end of the service station. 10 minutes later I got a lucky lift all the way to Bruchsal West.

Again not that much traffic. A lot of people go to Stuttgart. I wanted to go further

At first I was too lazy to speak to people and stood at the exit with a sign and my thumb. Didn't work out and as I started talking to people I got a lift very quickly.

It's not an ideal spot to get on the highway. Waited app. 40 minutes to get a ride to the next gas station.

Coming from the Frankfurt area, I had a nice little break there. I think after 30-45 minutes asking at the main building, I had a ride to Offenburg. Will definitely come here more often.

Very great place. You can easily get very long lifts in any direction.
From Bruchsal train station, take bus no. 125 to "Rasthof Ost" for north or "Rasthof West" for south.

Great place, for east (A6), north or south (A5). Take the tram no. 1, 2, S4 or S5 to Weinweg. It's a double-ramp, on the south side there is more traffic and more place to pull over.

Most of the southward traffic goes to Stuttgart/Karlsruhe, but not much towards Freiburg/Basel

Good place to go south. I ask one guy who drive me to Freiburg.

Great place to get south! Insa and Jan got a ride to near the Swiss border, without even asking, just because we walked around with a sign saying »CH«.
