nice gas station! At the dressing there are tables where you can eat and relax and if you stop in the summer can even sleep! We were thrown here at about 6 pm and by night we could not find the car, although we went to ask almost everyone, although in the morning (from 6 to 7) we were found to Dyorthmund. Most cars went to Amsterdam, some to Belgium. This is a good spot because everyone goes somewhere far away from Hanover's license plates. In general, the drivers of cars and trucks rest in the parking lot, many people can be asked

There is little traffic, (we were here on monday at 4pm), but it is worth the wait. People are going to Leipzig, Hanover or somewhere further west.

Many people to ask, a vibrant Raststelle. Seems good to trevel to the north (Kassel and in the direction of Hannover)

Mostly LKW, but managed to find a ride to Kassel for a Swedish guy going to Italy and then I found a Polish bus going towards Wroclaw.

Here I met a Swedish guy who was hitchhiking for the first time to Italy! Managed to hitch a ride together with guys from Kosovo going to Hannover.

Me and my friend got a ride around the sunset straight to Hannover with a guy who was driving to Düsseldorf. So we drove the whole night until the sunrise, which was perfect. :)

In theory spot seems good, but I had no luck. Ended up getting picked up, by misunderstanding in wrong direction

At the entry to the gasstation. First tried a sign "6km" to get to Garbsen, than "Osnabruck". Eventually got a ride to Auetal without using a sign.

Very big service area. Great place when heading to Berlin or Dortmund.
To get there from Hannover, take the U4 to Garbsen, then transfer to Bus no. 126 to the last station (Waldschänke).
This takes approx. 30 Minutes from central station.

Great place for going north or south. From the town center, take the tram no. 6 direction Messe/Ost to Kronsberg. Turn left into Wülferoder Straße. When the road turns slightly right, follow the small road straight on. 30 minutes walking.

this service station seems to be highly frequented by other hitchhikers. there is a huge sation on the side which leeds to the west and you will be able to find a lift in direction dortmund within a few minutes to the west, this is almost excellent). a bit more difficult is to find someone who changes to motorway to the a7 to the north. and even more difficult to find someone heading to the south from here. there is a small service area on the other side on the motorway which enables you to find a lift in direction east (berlin) too

Direction West.
Very little pace to pull over, but at least during rush hours, this works pretty well.
A sign saying 'A2 - WEST' is good.

Direction East.
Tramp-station is directly next to the tram-station Wiesenau of line 1. The place for the cars to stop is the old, unused and closed entrance of the military barracks. tram-ticket from hanover center costs 2,10€.
