Many people to ask, a vibrant Raststelle. Seems good to trevel to the north (Kassel and in the direction of Hannover)―Awe

There were many cars in the south direction (---->Bazel, München)Many cars did not stop for us, althought there was enough traffic.

Early rainy Monday morning, people were cranky and not many. Should be better later in the day though. Got a ride to the next bigger station. Spent the night hanging between two trees in the woods here (beautiful and not transited).―friki

My new technique strikes again! (Monday morning solo female). Sign in hand (Freiburg, maybe Basel would have been better sign though), walking around looking lost, for a place to hitch, immediately got offered a ride to Basel. Lots of Swiss cars, some southern German, not many French.―friki

De ĉi tie, oni povus iri sufiĉe plu; ĉi tiu loko estas vere bona, ankaŭ multaj kamionoj, sed mi ne pensas, ke kamionoj povus facile halti ĉi tie.―Jurobola

Alia netradicia veturo. Dum mi serĉis bonan lokon ĉe la elirejo, kie estus spaco por aŭtoj halti, mi fine marŝis pli antaŭen, kaj mi pensas, ke ĉi tio eble estas la plej bona loko, ĉar antaŭe ne estas tia kaj poste ĝi fariĝas malfacila. Kelkajn cent metrojn pluen, post la kurbo, estas ankaŭ bona loko tuj post granda domo, sed mi ne scias, ĉu ĝi estas pli bona pro la rapideco.La ulo lasis min ĉe ĉi tiu granda butikcentro (kie mi bone mangxis vegane) kie li diris, ke estas multe da BlaBlaCar-kulturo kaj ke, depende de la persono, li eble donos al mi senpagan veturon aŭ rabatoa veturon al Dresdeno aŭ eĉ pli frue. Sed kompreneble, mi ne atendis.

A guy and a girl without a sign on a Friday afternoon. Two cars stopped in 20 min, and the second one went south of Hannover. The spot at the end of the station is quite good for cars to stop.―JumpingRabbit

A guy and a girl without a sign on a Friday at noon. There is a bus stop for cars to stop, not ideal as everybody goes a bit fast, but probably the best spot to get out east of the city as there are a lot of people passing by.―JumpingRabbit

It really depends on where you wanna go. If you wanna go to Frankfurt, this is a great spot and you will find a ride in no time.If you want to go west on the 45 you just landed yourself in an impossible position. It's an unnatural stop when going that way, I only landed myself there because I wanted to get out of a car asap. If you need to go west I advice you to immediately accept that that is not gonna work from here. Although, I wouldn't be able to rule out that things are different in the summer. It's busy with a lot of nice people, telling you they would have taken you had they gone that way. I waited too long to accept my fate. It was snowing and getting dark, but in that sense it was a perfect spot, because I could hitchhike inside in "the glass hallway" and catch everyone there. I eventually had someone take me back to Frankfurt. After making some good conversation, that he enjoyed because his grandparents are Dutch and he could practice his Dutch, he was kind enough to go out of his way to "turn me around" in Frankfurt, such that I was on the right side of the highway again. From there on I quickly got back to Amsterdam. It eventually turned out that I had actully been lucky and made all the right calls, because I missed an appointment because of the delay, and that turned out to really work in my favor ;).
I think you would also be fine going east, but I can't remember. It's too long ago and that wasn't where I needed to go.

Good if wanting to go to Marburg. It's not a practicle place for cars to pull over, but many just stop directly on the road since there is not too much traffic. waiting time: 15 - 30 min.―Anonymous

Perfect for going toward Hamburg, Dresden, or Berlin. If you are in Giessen, which is hard to get out of, try taking a bus to Reiskirchen, get out first stop, and track back the direction you came from until you get to the Autobahn ramp.―Anonymous

Gas station on the motorway "Wetterau". There is a tunnel so you can easyly cross the motorway.Excellent stop if you're going north either to Dortmund or Kassel.
Comming from Dortmund I stop here, switch sides and go up north and east to chemnitz very often. Faster than directly trying to get east.
Very very many cars go north from here!!!!

bad place for getting to A5 over the Ring; at least mid-week before noon and it's not very good to stop 'cause it's the left lane in front of the traffic light―Anonymous
