Worst spot I could imagine. There is a gas station and Mc Donalds, but dead place and only local cars driving by. I got away by standing at this really dangerous triangle, no place to stop. Getting there was risky aswell, there was no footpath or traffic lights at all. I also asked people at the gas station and Mcdonalds, but I cant recommend.―Anonymous

Waited for 2 hours with some cars being unable to take us because we were with 3 people. Originally the plan was ulm or Munich. The amazing guy that eventually picked us up went to Lindau via ulm.Lindau is a village on lake Constance, the biggest lake in Germany and we decided to go along.

Traffic going to Stuttgart + an easy space for them to stop.―Proxi

enough place for cars to stop, we used a sign with "AUTOBAHN" and a sign with an arrow, which my friend pointed towards the place where the cars could stop, because its weirdly placed, it also served as a sign pointing to the direction of the highway we wanted to use😅―Anonymous

Not much place to stop, but its possible, yet I wouldnt recommend this spot since many people change directions so its hard to find a car heading to your direction, there is also not much traffic, a car pulled over and took us to an exit few kilometers away, where it was better to hitchhike―Anonymous

Got a ride to another gas station to the south of Stuttgart. Don’tbe shy to ask.―Anonymous

Great spot! Asked one person and found a ride straight to Cologne (could've gone to Düsseldorf even).I obviously got lucky, but there seemed to be a good amount of traffic.

It's just after an intersection with LOTS of traffic funneling in the north direction. You can talk to the drivers at the station, or you can stand at the entrance with a sign/thumb. I got my ride by asking a driver directly, and I know he would otherwise not have taken me because he drove right past me into the gas station. He was driving to Grünstadt, but he actually took a detour to drop me directly at my destination, Heidelberg!―Cabrita4

Somewhere around here must be a petrol station where you can ask for cars leaving Stuttgart. I have no experiences if that works well.To get here you can take the S-Bahn to Schwabstraße and walk up the Rotebühlstraße or take the bus.
