A lot of people going to Frankfurt, also you can cross the highway via a bridge and go north―Anonymous

There are a lot of trucks unloading here in the morning - I just asked the drivers and the third one took me to the next gasstation on the highway. Probably only works in the mornings though―Anonymous

Really hard to get anywhere else than the airport - finally someone took me to St Augustine from where I caught a hitch onto the highway―Anonymous

Not a lot of activity 23:30 on a wednesday. Got picked up by a man going to Köln though!―Anonymous

The route here is quite complicated (we took a train and two buses, unsure which ticket to buy and then we had to go 35 minutes). There are a lot of trucks and a few cars. We only just arrived, and someone took us to Erfurt. We were traveling as two people. It's a good place to travel east.―Anonymous

Stood at the end with a sign, a lot of cars park near the end so you can ask around and use the sign or a thumb at the same time. After 30 minutes a turkish guy took me to a gas station after Frankfurt. Pretty good and lots of traffic.―stepanfoj

I stood at the roundabout on the end. There was a lot of traffic. Had a sign saying Köln. Then a guy took me past it to a station in the direction of Frankfurt. Good spot. You can get here by bus from Aachen very easily, the bus station is right next to the station.―stepanfoj

I asked around and got a car to Aachen, although I got off at Köln. There is an okay amount of traffic.―Anonymous

Easy spot on the car parking near highway in direction of Germany close to the airport. There were no trains or buses to Cologne, the earliest would be in 4 hours, but I am impatient af. Saw it on Google map, came here, approached a truck with German plate numbers and got a direct ride to Cologne. Ez

Tried going in the direction of Aachen. But had no luck. Maybe it was because it was a sunday. Its probably better to take a bus and a train to the first gas station in the Aachen direction, its a short walk from the train station.―stepanfoj

Stood almost at the end, lots of trucks and cars coming through. The cars usually go to Köln and not further.―stepanfoj

Not too many cars, but lucky to get a ride to the next gas station as that guy was heading to Essen.―Anonymous

There were two of us hitchhiking and we got a lift here after a 10-minute wait. Perfect spot before joining the A2 motorway―Anonymous

*The employees don't like hitchhikers here. So don't stand right in front the store as a tip.* Nevertheless, we asked about 50+ cars in 50 minutes maybe even more. Many people just barely going over the border (like Kleve or 's-Heerenberg, Netherlands) or the cars are already full with people. Right as we got told by the employees to stop asking people for a ride. We just got one 2 minutes before al the way to the center of Köln. 140km/90 minute ride. Another group of friends got at this shell at the same time as us and they got a ride all the way to Dusseldorf Airport in 3 minutes of being there. Unfortunately they didn't have room for 4 people, only 3. So that is why we had to wait for 50 additional minutes (we got to Köln earlier though). Many Hitchhikers come here do, just took us a lot of time to get a good ride. It's about luck here!!―Anonymous

Great spot! Asked one person and found a ride straight to Cologne (could've gone to Düsseldorf even).I obviously got lucky, but there seemed to be a good amount of traffic.
