It’s next to a traffic light. I waited so long and eventually gave up to move further up the street. Spot was bad. If really motivated the people could drive around the corner (was even the same trafficlight lane) to pick one up but nobody was motivated enough to do so.―Jasire

When I got there it was pretty busy.Probably also because it was vacation season. Anyways after asking around I got a ride with some dutch people up until Puttgarden onto the ferry. Traffic towards Denmark will come through here. (246km)

put your backpack in front on the restaurant and ask people of both side (parking and gas station)

Quite hard to get to the spot from Bremen. first you take the bus and then you hope for the best (you have to check if the doors to highway next to the bridge are open). Got a ride to Hamburg pretty quick tho―tsunaa

Great spot to get into Multiple directions it seems like there are more people heading north then towards Hamburg or Kiel then towards Hannover. My first time hitchhiking ever was here and I got a ride heading to Kiel in 10 minutes.―John

Was stupid and hoping for a ride all the way to Hamburg so turned down two rides offered to the other side of Bremen within the first 20 minutes. Ending up waiting an hour and a half just to end up on the other side of Bremen. The spot was busy, but it seemed to be mostly older people and packed cars of vacationing families. I didn't ask around only thumbed.―eyeball

Super busy and great if you're heading towards Germany. Was planning to ride the A1 east so turned down two rides going north, but was then offered a ride all the way to Bremen passing through Groningen. Didn't even have to ask drivers just stood by the exit.―eyeball

I got very lucky on a early Saturday morning in December.I took bus 5 to Scharmer here and walked across the bridge to get to the gas station,
there was only a very narrow and slippery plank across the ditch though, so it is quite hard to reach.
But I got lucky and got a ride all the way to Bremen from here.
