Once, it took me 1:50h to get a lift to A24->Berlin. Maybe it's better to wait in Kiel for a direct lift, if you start from there.For a lift to "Buddikate" (A1->HH, HB) I waited 50min.

There's an unused lane where the cars (they drive 50 km/h) can stop easily. With a Kiel sign very easy. I have not tried the surrounding villages or Neumünster, but it should work.―Anonymous
