Very chill spot. Right by the entrance to the highway and right next to a shopping plaza where people can pull. The locals are very friendly, always smiling and waving at you. Hitchhiked pretty late too, 6 pm on a Thursday. Was heading to Munich.

Got a ride instantly at the Shell and asking the first person. Got a ride to Regensburgs. I got really lucky I think. Pretty normal place for hitchhikers, I met a few. Not much traffic though for a 6 pm on a Wednesday.

we (2girls) needed a ride towards hamburg and got a ride to würzburg!! we waited for like 30 minutes. it’s right before the autobahn and people can stop at the bus station!

Two guys hitchhiking to München. The license plates mostly belong to locals, but be patient and you’ll be picked up. The locals are friendly. They often wave and smile back even if they won’t pick you up.

We stood by the on-ramp. It’s not a perfect place for drivers to pull in, but it’s possible and cars behind can still manage to pass.

Two guys hitchhiking to München. We got a lift to Regensburg (north of München). We were picked up after a while by a nice lady heading to Austria. We stood by the on-ramp to the autobahn. It’s not a perfect place for the drivers to pick you up, as they can easily block traffic, but if there’s a will there’s a way.

Hard to reach (bus 4euro, no path from field, fence). People come here to pee on trees, you can talk to them.

a bit sketchy to stand here, try a bit before the traffic lights on the east side of the crossroads, you will get half the traffic but its easier for cars to pull in and you are more visible. with a sign for passau i got a lift in no time.

great spot, very easy to get a lift to neumarkt if you have a sign and then regensburg. i was lucky though and got a lift straight to regensburg early in the morning

It had already gotten dark, but luckily an Indian couple who were heading north and not a big detour through Amberg took me there. But it was a funny moment when they thought I might be doing something illegal and asked whether I have a valid visa and documents to be in this country. 😃

I messed it up with the previous ride lol so this one was the cool techno guy who didn’t mind taking a bit of a different highway so I could get here. But the previous ride was with a woman who has hitchhiked herself and took me to the next gas station as it was way better there. :)

Theres not much Traffic but its the best place to hike to west (A3) and north (A93). Ask to get to Rasthof Jura (Neumarkt). You can reach the spot from the IKEA Bus stop.
